Don't know HOW I missed this: US House Gives Final Approval to Marijuana Banking Reform Bill

Can't wait to see what happens in the Senate next. Keeping fingers and toes crossed! 🤞

+1 what Hannah said. Huge moves for cannabis. Would allow real capital to move into the space which would mean LOTS of jobs :) !

What is everyone's go-to resource for cannabis updates? I'm subscribed to the below but looking for more options!

I work with the Chamber of Cannabis in Nevada, our coalition of industry leaders put forth a business model to our legislature and have a lobbyist representing us - We are ONE step closer to creating commerce with Social Consumption Lounges in Nevada, AND this bill will be the first to define SOCIAL EQUITY. This is so exciting! Our bill AB 341 passed the Assembly floor, as well as the other bill we are working on which is AB 400 - removing the 'per se' portion (drawing blood and having THC threshold limits) and treating DUI suspected stops like prescription drugs. WOO! Big news for Nevada cannabis!!

So many exciting updates! Ohio is expected to license 73 more medical dispensaries, with the application process opening up this summer. Meanwhile, we're seeing states like Mississippi, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Georgia continue developing their legalization efforts (at least medically). Lots of work to be done, lots of companies to staff, lots of people to educate. Exciting times to be part of the cannabis space!

Amanda-Woomer: I am interested in a Cannabis Compliance Certification. I have spent far too much time as a contractor managing the records in a program office of a federal agency. The skills I’ve acquired will easily transfer to the cannabis industry, but I need some industry experience even if it is classroom. Do you have any recommendations? The certification offered by Cannabis Compliance Trainer seems the most popular, but I’d like to hear from those in the industry as to their preferred certifications. I’m looking forward to more east coast states legalizing cannabis and I want to be in a position to leverage the opportunity when it arises. Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Hey Amanda! Compliance is key in the cannabis industry. Although certifications for bud tending or growing are available they aren't going to be a determining factor in landing a job. But with something as serious as compliance training and certification will help familiarize yourself with the industry but will allow you to specialize in a specific state depending on where you get the certification. If it is something you are serious about, I believe it would be worth pursuing.
