The role of data analysis

Questions that Need Answers

As a data analyst, I would love to be able to use my vocational skills in the world of cannabis, yet I see very little, if any discussion about this role. Is the cannabis world moving in this direction and how would a data analyst land such a role?

Hi Ross--any role you can find in a traditional corporate environment, you can find in cannabis. For example--I'm working with a cannabis company in Arizona to fill a financial analyst role and an accountant role.

Hi Ross, I'd like to know more about your background to see if we have a match. I am the director of talent acquisition at FORIAN, which develops innovative software solutions for the cannabis industry. If you would like to send me your resume, please do: [email protected] All of our positions are remote, but we do need USA based candidates who are legally authorized to work in the US. Thanks, Carmen

Good morning, I’m glad I’ve found this post. I have a keen interest in learning where data analytics will play a role in cannabis culture as well. I should warn you, I have no prior experience with computer science or cannabis, but i won’t let that stop me from finding answers to my inquiries. I’m currently learning python as well as what I can from all sources pertaining to computer science, but it’s a very slow process, especially since I’m a hands on learner. Any recommendations for a beginner to figure out a path in this field?

Hey, Ross: You should look at what firms like BDSA, Headset, and Brightfield Group are doing. BDSA is especially wonky, based in Boulder, Colorado.
