Summary

The Controller will be responsible for day to day financial entries, production of periodic financial reports, and the maintenance of all bookkeeping records. The position will work with and help further develop a comprehensive set of internal financial controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's financial results. Working with our company’s accountants, the Controller will work to ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as well as with cannabis regulations. This position is full time and will report directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities

Computes, classifies and records financial transactions to ensure the financial records of the company are accurate.

Account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts and defines bookkeeping policies and procedures.

Maintains entity accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.

Balances entity accounts by reconciling entries and maintaining accurate ledgers.

Maintains general ledger.

Monitors office expenses, and tallying and entering cash receipts.

Pays vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances.

Assist our accountants with monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

Assist our accountants in the preparation of quarterly and monthly tax returns, along with payroll, operating and business taxes.

Experience

Bachelors Degree in Finance preferred

2+ Years of relevant cannabis experience is preferred

5+ years of bookkeeping experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reports.

Experience with METRC required

Full proficiency with QuickBooks required

Previous experience as Controller or Senior Accountant required
