Summary

The Role

This is a 100% remote role. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a corporate server environment hosted in Nutanix/VMWare/AWS/Azure, hardware, software, backup, and tier 3 technical support for all cloud and on-premise Infrastructure resources. This position works closely with the application owners and other members of the IT infrastructure team to resolve incidents and meet service requests within appropriate SLA's. The Sr. Systems Engineer is expected to be the SME in one or more areas of server technologies. In addition to daily responsibilities the Sr Systems Engineer will be assigned to lead and work on multiple IT projects, Proof of Concepts, test labs.

Responsibilities
  • Interfaces with IT Operations team members to identify, analyze and resolve inefficient processes or standardizations across systems.
  • Identify and implement areas of improvement in architecture
  • Identify and implement, in conjunction with management and architects, areas for improvement within team with efficient and cutting-edge administration tools
  • Building and implementing new or existing customer Microsoft environments
  • Handling Process & Automation Improvement projects, both Infrastructure and team-based initiatives.
  • Microsoft server-side support tickets through our ticket queue system that have gone through our Help Desk and NOC support 1-3 tiers
  • Support SAML based SSO integrations in Azure and OneLogin
  • Supports workflow automation tools Including Power Automate and Logic Apps
  • Supports web native PowerApps Integrated with workflow automation tools
  • Support SharePoint Online Including but not limited to Site Administration and creation, SharePoint groups and permission models, and SharePoint forms
  • Supports PowerShell and command line solutions
  • Basic support of Microsoft Windows Server roles/tools Including Active Directory, DNS, GPO, PKI, DHCP, ADCS, and NPS
  • Implementation and administration of Microsoft Exchange OnPrem and Office365
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting capability with high availability solutions
  • Following thorough Change Management processes and documentation
  • Implementing server hardening/security best practices
  • Server performance, capacity planning, and cost management
  • Troubleshooting supported end user application server issues
  • Understanding of SSL/TLS technologies
  • Comfort using in scripting tools like PowerShell, ARM templates, Python, Azure CLI

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field preferred or demonstrated work experience
  • 5+ years' experience building Windows Server architecture using virtualization, cloud, and open-source technologies
  • Desire to document processes, share knowledge, and identify bottlenecks
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and automation techniques
  • Expert knowledge of SharePoint Online and Office 365 platform including Exchange Online
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft PowerApps, Power Automate, and Logic Apps
  • Solid knowledge of ITIL practices and demonstrated experience increasing ITIL capability
  • Exceptional organization and planning skills and process-driven thinking
  • Self-starter, creative, enthusiastic, innovative and collaborative outlook.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment

  • Must pass any and all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
