The Cultivation Fertigation Technician's directive is to work with the Cultivation Manager, Supervisor, and Leads to oversee and implement all irrigation and fertigation activities within the grow facility, and to ensure correct operation of the irrigation system. The Fertigation Technician will also be required to work within the cultivation facility, performing crop production tasks as necessary.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and operate the fertigation system
- Follow all company and product label safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Monitor and maintain all meters related to fertigation management, ensuring regular calibration and cleaning of nutrient testing instruments (moisture meters, pH/EC meters, etc.)
- Monitor and maintain nutrient stock tanks, pumps, and filters (mixing, pH/EC balancing, cleaning, sanitizing, etc.)
- Responsible for irrigation line cleaning and sanitation and the installation and maintenance of general irrigation equipment: emitters, drip stakes, drip tubing, filters, meters, irrigation lines, etc.
- Inspect grow rooms daily to monitor plant health and media moisture content, identify wilting or overwatered plants, and make necessary corrections/adjustments
- Monitor runoff and collection cylinders to ensure proper pH/EC of feed solutions and log fertigation data on the appropriate sheets
- Collect nutrient samples to be sent out for analysis as needed
- Maintain nutrients inventory and keep record of all nutrient usage
- Coordinate with Cultivation Manager, Cultivation Supervisor, and Cultivation Leads to set a daily irrigation plan
- Perform crop production tasks as necessary (plant maintenance, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned by Management
Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Self-motivated to learn and improve
- Agricultural or greenhouse industry experience preferred
- Able to work effectively
- Ability to maintain excellent punctuality and attendance
- Good documentation, inventory, and organizational skills
- Basic math, weights, measurements skills, ability to operate a scale
- Schedule flexibility - able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary
- Physical aptitude and health necessary to conduct manual labor tasks required within a commercial grow operation
- Excellent time management skills
- Can maintain a positive attitude
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Applicant must be 21 years of age or older

Background Check Requirement
As a condition of employment, a complete background investigation will be conducted based on the rules of Maryland MMCC COMAR 10.62.09/10.62.20. The state investigative process includes a fingerprint impression, scheduled at a state approved location. Individuals that have been convicted of a felony drug offense, except as provided in Health-General Article, §13-3310(d), Annotated Code of Maryland or is convicted of or pleads nolo contendere to a crime involving moral turpitude, whether or not any appeal or other proceeding is pending to have the conviction or plea set aside may not hold a position with TerrAscend MD.
Drug Screening
As a condition of employment and compliance with Maryland MMCC COMAR 10.62.09.06/10.62.20.06, prospective employees must submit and pass a drug screening which includes the associated drugs in accordance with COMAR 17.04.09.06. Unless medically justified, a prospective processor agent who has a positive response to any tested substance on a drug screen that meets the requirements of COMAR 17.04.09.07 may not be registered by the Commission.
