Extraction Technician

Organization

TerrAscend NJ is a New Jersey based company with a state permit awarded to cultivate, process, and dispense premium marijuana medicine to the medical marijuana patients of Maryland in a compassionate and safe manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhere to the daily production schedule to ensure attainment of efficiency goals.
  • Verify that all applicable working areas, tools, and processing equipment are maintained and in good working order prior to the start of each shift or batch.
  • Clean and sanitize glassware, transfer materials, storage vessels, tools and working surfaces.
  • Ensure all extraction and processing are performed with attention to strict TerrAscend quality and safety standards, regulatory compliance and all other applicable legal and food safety requirements.
  • Safely operate, clean and maintain extraction production equipment including supercritical fluid and solvent extraction systems, distillations systems, pumps, filters and evaporators according to our SOP's.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials (Butane, Propane, Ethanol, etc.), and adhere to safe chemical handling and disposing procedures defined by SOP's and MSDS.
  • Safely handle and dispose of cannabis waste according to processes defined in SOP's.
  • Produce reliable and precise data for completion of all required batch, equipment, quality, inventory and state mandated seed to sale documentation.
  • Accurately fill out all associated logs and tracking records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of TerrAscend processes.
  • Ensure the safety of themselves and other by maintaining a safe and orderly workspace.
  • Other duties in post-processing production, packaging, labeling and R & D as required.


Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Biochemistry or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of HPLC experience.
  • Positive attitude & Self-motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Able to push, pull or lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting and or walking for extended periods of time.


Additional Requirements:

  • Applicant must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be and remain compliant with any and all company regulations.


Background Check Requirement

As a condition of employment, a complete background investigation will be conducted based on the rules of Maryland MMCC COMAR 10.62.09/10.62.20. The state investigative process includes a fingerprint impression, scheduled at a state approved location. Individuals that have been convicted of a felony drug offense, except as provided in Health-General Article, §13-3310(d), Annotated Code of Maryland or is convicted of or pleads nolo contendere to a crime involving moral turpitude, whether or not any appeal or other proceeding is pending to have the conviction or plea set aside may not hold a position with TerrAscend MD.

Drug Screening

As a condition of employment and compliance with Maryland MMCC COMAR 10.62.09.06/10.62.20.06, prospective employees must submit and pass a drug screening which includes the associated drugs in accordance with COMAR 17.04.09.06. Unless medically justified, a prospective processor agent who has a positive response to any tested substance on a drug screen that meets the requirements of COMAR 17.04.09.07 may not be registered by the Commission.
