The Manager in Training is responsible for supporting the Store Manager & Assistant Manager with all aspects of store operations including coaching and developing the store team that delivers the Lightshade mission statement to every customer. The Manager in Training is in training to have all ability to do all functions, just as the Store Manager with exception of some high-level items & responsibility. It is essential that the Manager in Training be capable of completing the MIT program within 3 months, being verified by a District Manager, with an in-person assessment. Please refer to the Manager in Training Program.
-Follow and complete the Manager in Training Program within 3 months, with a District Manager assessment and graduation -Complete all necessary Cornerstone trainings, WebX VILT sessions as assigned by the Training Manager -Communicate the stores weekly and monthly sales information -Motivate and work together with employees to meet and exceed daily sales goals -Assist with the administration of employee onboarding/evaluations -Inform employees of new updates and general developments in the company, including but not limited to updating the Store Dashboard -Help ensure that inventory backstock is adequate and help manage inventory properly -Assist the Store Manager/Asst Store Manager with employee schedules and assists with managing employee work hours and vacation requests, as directed in MIT Outline -Accountable for accurately utilizing Lightshade Point of Sale system -Participate along with the Store Manager in evaluating applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with Human Resources; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications
-The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds unless otherwise specified. The position also includes climbing ladders, reaching up, bending, walking about in a small space. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone, through email and other electronic means, move about the office and company, handle various types of media and equipment, and visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess.

-Solid organizational and communication skills, the Manager in Training must be able to fully support all aspects of the store, including but not limited to: making store schedules, compliance items, interviewing, training new employees, ordering the product, inventory control, loss prevention, etc. -Ability to partner with Store Manager/Asst Store Manager on all operational matters -Ability to work with vendors and agencies to produce results -Basic Microsoft Office, Point of Sale software, cash management, and banking knowledge is required -Strong attention to detail and must have a team-player mentality -Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to employees and vendors maintaining a professional and courteous manner -Ability to creatively cultivate long-term customer relationships -Ability to deal with problems and resolve them in a professional manner -Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations by supervising store a minimum of 5 full shifts per week, including weekends, evening, and holiday shifts -METRC champion and signed up for continued METRC training courses, knowledge to investigate into audits and
-High School Diploma or equivalent required -BA/BS degree preferred or an additional 2 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree -2+ years experience in retail required; must have at least 1 year of experience in a management role within a retail or customer service environment
