In this role with Curaleaf, Drug delivery chemists apply their research techniques from pharmaceuticals or nutraceuticals, with a focus on improving cannabinoid delivery and developing novel cannabinoids. You will work in our R&D lab optimizing and developing cannabinoid delivery technologies with a focus on improving the pharmacokinetics, metabolic pathways and distribution. You will also explore and develop the synthesis and purification of novel cannabinoids. RESPONSIBILITIES <ul> <li>Must have experience in drug delivery and/or nanotechnologies</li> <li>The primary focus will be exploring and developing cannabinoid delivery systems; liposomes, conjugation, co-crystalizing, nanoemulsions, etc.</li> <li>Analytical instrumentation skills for compound identification</li> <li>Synthetic organic chemistry skills, including purification and identification of products</li> <li>Broad understanding of biology and biological functions and how drugs work</li> <li>Teamwork and interpersonal skills are required. In most cases, a large, interdisciplinary team will decide which compounds should be synthesized and tested, so the medicinal chemist needs to work well with everyone on the team</li> <li>Communication skills-medicinal chemists often have to write reports and present the results of their research.
