Irrigation Technicians are responsible for all hands-on irrigation and fertigation of cannabis plants, monitoring plants and irrigation lines to ensure all plants are being watered, maintaining and cleaning irrigation lines and all associated irrigation equipment, cleaning and sanitation activities. Irrigation Technicians report directly to the Cultivation Lead. The right candidate demonstrates proficiency, organization, calmness, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment; works independently, and prioritizes quality and integrity. Salary is commensurate with experience ($14.00 to $15.00/hour).

Role Requirements


Follow crop cycle scheduling and organization to help cultivation manager precisely project all plant needs

Maintain up-to-date work shift responsibilities on company calendar, and inform Cultivation Manager of any changes

Fill out all forms and logs associated with cultivation responsibilities

Complete daily reports + noting agendas and planning priorities

Maintain and follow company and cultivation department policies and procedures

Follow all issued cultivation SOPs accurately

Work within the company continuous improvement system and strive to increase productivity

Demonstrate ownership, accountability, initiative and quality of work

Fill out all logs consistently and accurately

Wash and sanitize all equipment ensuring all tools are free of pests, viruses or disease

Conduct operations in professional manner to ensure State Compliance Laws are upheld

Catalogue and maintain organization of plants from clone-to-harvest using our logging system

Must manage time during work efficiently to meet goals while consistently producing quality product

Perform all assigned tasks in the grow

Perform morning facility/plant observation walk-throughs and monitor for issues

Continuously learn irrigation/fertigation, fertilizer mixing, and plant nutritional requirements

Continuously learn various strains, styles and types of cannabis they are cultivating

Maintain organization and cleanliness of the cultivation facility

Temperature and humidity monitoring and recording

Nutrient runoff testing & data collection log

2x/week bluelab meter calibration & log

Running floor fans & to evaporate excess feed water

Other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Perform specific plant care duties such as the following:

Daily irrigation system feeding

Nutrients mixing, ph management and feeding


Routine flushing and soaking of irrigation lines and components

Replacing, soaking, and cleaning drip emitters as needed and on a regular schedule

Following specific feeding schedule for plants based on their stage in the crop cycle

Monitoring of drip emitters to ensure they function properly

Physical Requirements

Must have excellent vision and hearing

This position requires prolonged standing (up to 8 hours) and some bending, stooping, sitting and stretching for extended periods of time while maintaining focus - some movement may be repetitive

Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance) and must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and product

Work is performed in a fast-paced cannabis grow location and is subject to weather conditions, including rain and hot or cold temperatures


Ability to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure, methods and technique

Use of independent judgment regarding product processing, keeping quality, projections and goals in mind

Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department as needed and/or requested by their direct supervisor; this may include but is not limited to, helping grow staff with small tasks, cleaning and/or moving supplies and equipment and/or helping the packaging department or working at other locations as needed

Ability to follow basic instructions and ability to take constructive criticism from their managers to maintain quality standards and production goals

Must have reliable transportation

Must have organization and planning skills and ability to work in a complex, fast-paced environment

Basic weights and measurement skills, ability to operate a scale and do basic math is required

A minimum of 1-2 years experience processing cannabis or othervbotanicals preferred

Current MED employee (support/key) badge preferred or ability to obtain one prior to starting work

Must be 21 years old per state regulations and pass a criminal background check

Previous agricultural/warehouse/manufacturing/laborer experience a plus

Ability to work in a timely manner and strives to increase productivity

Must have fundamental knowledge and familiarity with cannabis, as well as the ability to be taught and guided in areas related to cultivation

Must be a positive role model and demonstrate ethical behavior throughout your department and the rest of the organization

Self-motivation and the ability to work well with all members of their staff and the company, as well as with their direct supervisor

Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively with others; receptive to feedback and coaching; voices concern in a constructive manner

Possess basic understanding of the cannabis laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state


High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
