Overview The Head Grower for our New Mexico facility is a key leadership position within the RGC Organization. The primary purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of crop cultivation in order to achieve consistently high yields and quality. This role will oversee the junior cultivation staff, as well as guide the Propagation, Irrigation, Transplant, IPM/Spray, Technical (Pruning, Trellising) Departments. The Head Grower will work side-by-side with their counterpart(s) in the Operations Team and interact closely with the Executive Team and Administrative Staff.

Role Requirements


Leadership & Management • Manage the Cultivation and Production Teams on a day-to-day basis, including both technical guidance in growing topics, as well as mentorship and coaching • Create and sustain a culture of excellence, inclusion, collaboration, positivity and continuous learning • Develop a strong roster of cultivation and production team members Yield & Quality • Strive to achieve high yield and high quality for every crop produced. • Use data-driven approach to manage all areas of crop production • Continuously strive for improvement and learn from all mistakes/missteps Environmental Controls & Irrigation Schedules • Oversee and manage all environmental controls for all greenhouses • Determine optimal settings for all greenhouse equipment and irrigation • Evaluate climate strategy impact on energy use and yield Greenhouse Management • Oversee and determine all cultural practices for young plant production • Oversee IPM Program compliance, record keeping and IPM strategy • Monitor functioning of greenhouse, production and irrigation equipment regularly with Maintenance Supervisor • Oversee plant nutrition program • Review crop schedules and adjust as needed for sales, operations or plant needs • Provide training to operations team as needed on crop-specific tasks

Physical Requirements



• Understanding of all aspects of crop production and growing in CEA • Strong computer skills with experience with climate control software platforms • Extremely well organized • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills • Data-driven with strong problem-solving and analytical skills


Education: • Degree in Plant Science, Horticulture or related field Professional Experience: • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a management position in commercial greenhouse production. Cannabis experience is a plus, but not required.
