We are an entrepreneurial and growing processing company seeking a Director of Product Sales and Account Management in the herbal products industry. This position reports directly to the CEO and supervises the many facets of wholesale account and direct customer relationships and product sales for an herbal manufacturing company, Sun God Medicinals. The successful candidate will also assist us in managing a newly developed account and sales team for this consumer product line. It is our goal to produce a range of high-quality herbal compounded products that will be sold both through websites directly to consumers as well as through our existing wholesale distribution network and work to develop broker and distributor relationships nationally. Preference will be given to the candidate with applicable sales team experience in the consumer product good sales like natural foods and holistic products with further consideration given to exceptional leaders with strong management skills. We are looking for a key individual to complement and grow with our team. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES The Director will be responsible for distribution channels, sales, account management, and department financial performance at Sun God Herbals. At this early stage, the Director will have to review established procedures for various functions of the business and will be expected to perform these tasks as necessary. They must exhibit strong leadership skills, be a motivated self-starter with high standards, and have demonstrated experience developing and adhering to budget controls. The successful candidate will have proven methods of creating efficiencies, establishing processes, and maintaining consistently high quality as sales levels increase. The Director will be able to show examples of problem solving, creating and validating systems and checkpoints to drive sales, employee retention and team development, maintain relationships, compliance with regulatory agencies, and have consistently met or exceeded expectations. We are looking for a sales director with a warrior-like, entrepreneurial spirit looking to grow an artisan, craft national brand.

Role Requirements


Oversee consistency and quality assurance

Management of sales/account team including scheduling and attendance tracking

Ensuring a safe and positive work environment for all of our employees

Retailer, broker & distributor relationships – Expand distribution, sell in new items, negotiate pricing establish trade spend and promotion calendars, run retail programs, and analyze ROI. Build strong relationships that transform key retailers into business partners. Negotiate agreements with and manage brokers and distributors.

Thought leadership & planning – Set strategy for delivering on financial targets set in the annual budget process. Identify opportunities to deepen existing customer relationships, expand distribution, and bolster velocities. Translate business strategy into clear plans with measurable targets then focus resources to execute accordingly.

Retail operations – Ensure execution of channel and customer plans, including assortment, merchandising, price, and shelving. Identify optimal brokers and distributors, and manage them

Financial target ownership – Accountable for revenue and profit growth. Build annual forecast then evaluate rolling forecast against annual plan on a monthly basis. Communicate the drivers of gross and net revenue acceleration and deceleration each month

Forecasting – Establish, lead, and communicate a monthly volume and distribution plan to achieve overall objectives in the market, inform supply chain response, and inform financial forecast. Own your demand forecast. Understand which customers/distributors drive variance between actual and forecasted demand each month. Work with demand planning to minimize the variance.

Work with the Director of Manufacturing and sales/account team to coordinate order fulfillment need; Inventory distribution and management while in the sales cycle, including returns and inventory tracking and controls while in the sales cycle

Adhering to established budgets and P&L responsibility

Sales strategy & materials – Based on deep knowledge of partner incentives and data, build presentations for total business, customers, and distribution partners in collaboration with the Director of Marketing that are innovation and designed to trigger an action-oriented response.

Category intelligence – Leverage key consumption data sources to develop fact-based plans and category solutions. Provide category management leadership, marketplace insights, and analysis in order to deepen relationships with retailers.

Customer advocacy – Understand key accounts inside and out, including key customer stakeholders, KPIs/objectives/strategies, and decision-making process/timing. Champion your customer internally at Sun God Herbals. Leverage company resources to build customer relationships. Flag then execute on opportunities for supporting the company's customers

Further develop job descriptions and recruiting, hiring, and training staff along with corporate management

Further develop specifications and operations of the sales team for increased sales, account management, efficiency and accuracy.

Create and implement a marketing and sales strategy

Develops and manage sales metrics for account representatives

Daily oversight of account representatives, tradeshow and brand ambassadors, brokers, distribution channels, B2C communications

Targets customers with high growth potential and works with sales teams to capitalize on opportunities

Maintain familiarity with state and federal hemp rules & regulations.

Assist in the development of the product offering and merchandising and communicate need for development of products and merchandising to CEO

Manages, leads, and trains sales team to exceed company goals
