Established in central Texas in 2010, and with humble beginnings, Windship Trading has become one of the leading international distributors and wholesale operations for the smoke shop and cannabis industries. About the opportunity…
As an integral part of the “we can do that” operation, this position plays a lead role in the establishment and growth of customer relationships, and in our mission to be ‘First Choice’ for our customers. This role is responsible to develop and manage key accounts on a statewide scale. Specifically:
Develop solid, trusting and positive relationship between key accounts/customers and business unit Generate new accessories and cannabis sales using existing and potential networks Enhance department and organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value Lead business development and in-store execution in the pursuit of being ‘First Choice’ for territory customers Develop a complete understanding of key account/customer needs; anticipate changes and improvements; resolve issues and provide solutions Manage communications between key accounts and internal team Perform strategic plans to improve and expand customer results Using key account principals, independently establish and execute account annual plans in pursuit of sales objectives and revenue generation; adjust content of sales presentations by studying type of sales outlet and/or trade factor Negotiate contracts with customer and establish timelines of performance Establish and oversee internal budgets with the business unit and external budgets with the customer Work with sales, marketing and procurement teams to ensure the highest quality of materials are being produced/fulfilled to meet customer needs Act as the customer lead for all cross-functional teams, including merchandising, operations, supply and finance Leverage analytic capabilities to identify stock keeping unit (SKU), product and portfolio opportunities, and manage performance of product portfolio Plan and present reports on account progress, goals and initiatives to management; manage customer profit and loss Lead promotional planning and customer calendar development and execution Analyze customer data to provide customer relationship management; monitor and analyze customer's usage of product to anticipate and determine retailer products needs Work closely with customer decision makers to ensure secure product placement and visibility Work closely with trade marketing to develop, implement, and measure winning customer solutions
Successful candidates will bring…
3 to 5 years’ previous work experience in sales, management, key account management, or relevant experience; CPG and beverage alcohol experience in retail is preferred a desire to work in a high energy, fast-paced environment a proven commitment to quality of work, and positive customer experience handling a strong motivation to work in the emerging cannabis industry excellent communication and a demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate with customers an ability to self-motivate and be team-centric strong negotiation skills, with a proven ability to follow-through on customer contracts proven experience working with a CRM system formal sales training and direct-to-business customer experience ability to prioritize and manage workload across multiple simultaneous tasks, in a fast-paced work environment, while ensuring delivery of high-quality work and meeting timelines high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Outlook, Excel) experience with Oracle NetSuite and CRM tools is an asset
