Description

The Cultivation Manager has the responsibility of overseeing the entire cultivation department. Ensuring the healthy growth of our cannabis plants in all stages and aspects. Provides leadership and guidance to all Cultivation employees. Trains and assists all levels of Cultivation employees as needed. Creates and executes a well-planned and organized plant production schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all cultivation tasks and processes from propagation through harvest.
  • Manage cultivation staff, schedules, cultivation processes, inventory, and vendor relations
  • Ensure that the cultivation department adheres to all state regulatory compliance standards and maintains proper documentation
  • Responsible for creating baseline nutrient mixes that will maximize plant health, and for ensuring proper application within the cultivation center
  • Maintain a clean and organized cultivation center with proper inventory of all cultivation supplies
  • Ensure optimal plant health while maximizing yields by maintaining proper pruning, plant training, and trimming processes and procedures Role Requirements
  • Initiates and updates Cultivation training and SOPs, works closely with the Director of Production
  • Responsible for initiating new procedural, product or equipment initiatives.
  • Responsible for handling Employee Relations by delivering Performance Reviews and Corrective Actions as well as providing feedback and coaching frequently
  • Establishes, executes, and maintains holistic employee engagement opportunities
  • Establishes, executes, and maintains a thorough Cloning Schedule
  • Collaborates with other department managers and leadership to maximize efficiencies and quality.
  • Accurately and consistently tracks plant movement via the Seed-to-Sale tracking system (Biotrack THC), while ensuring all record-keeping requirements are met
  • Gathers data and provides feedback regarding the research, development and implementation of any new processes or equipment as needed
  • May help in other departments as needed/Other duties as assigned.


Administrative Duties:

  • Oversees, trains and manages technician(s). Responsible for the hiring, performance reviews and disciplinary action.
  • Manage documentation of all final production activities consistent with Lean Manufacturing Practices (LMP) principles.
  • Complies with Company SOPs and New York State guidance
  • Develop cost analysis reports for prospect equipment and supplies in Department.
  • Maintain personal training status and records consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Reports key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Director of Production.
  • Create and submit purchase requisitions to the Purchasing Department
  • Create and send daily and weekly progress summary report emails to the Director of Production
  • Maintain good working relationships with vendors to ensure smooth and effective communication.
  • Ensure all daily safety inspections within the department are completed and checked


Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. -Required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a cannabis cultivation management position or bachelor's degree in horticulture, plant biology, physiology, biological sciences, or agricultural sciences
  • Minimum experience of 1-2 years leadership experience.


Additional Qualifications:

Required Knowledge

  • Proficient in terms of operating computer & office equipment (Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Office Equipment; Copiers, Printers, Telephone Systems).
  • Excellent computer proficiency
  • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines.
  • Proficient in Math required for inventory, projections, and measurements.
  • Experience complying with GMP Standards.
