The Processing Lab Technician will support lab professionals and inventory department in the Cannabis Industry. Their primary duties include setting up lab equipment, analyzing and cataloging samples and performing general clerical duties. The individual will work together to ensure that all cannabis, from seeds to finished products, is tagged, logged, tracked, and recorded in Metrc in accordance with Standards and Regulations governing the legal Colorado MED (Marijuana Enforcement Division). The Inventory team is responsible for ensuring operations at all Curaleaf, Inc. licensed facilities by identifying needs, delegating internally, and taking initiative as needed to maintain Metrc compliance. Lab Techs assist Inventory & Metrc teams as necessary in developing and implementing the strategies, processes and procedures needed to maintain Metrc compliance and testing, without causing a negative impact to the timeliness of cannabis production operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Implement SOPs on Lab and Metrc operations for compliance with Metrc requirements
• Prepare, classify, and label samples for testing using various laboratory equipment.
• Conduct laboratory tests, analyze results, and document your findings.
• Maintain all required laboratory records, providing documentation of all activities, results, and reports to management.
• Report all waste per batch to state.
• Report any mistakes to proper authorities and make notes to back up resolution reached.
• Ensure use of correct CSV files and timely and accurate data reporting
• Responsible for executing tagging, labeling, weighing, and counting functions
• Assist in plant harvest and report weights per harvested batch to the State of Colorado.
• Assist in processing plants making sure batches come down in the way they were harvested, and ensure barrels are labeled correctly and put with incorrect batches.
• Send, receive, and reject transfers and inventory, including outgoing inventory and assist in getting samples for testing.
• Assist as necessary with inventory cycle counts for all licenses and license types, including any necessary investigations.
• Update/maintain/audit inventory for designated barn as product comes in, goes out or changes.
• If the product is RF'd, assist in the process and ensure the product does not spoil in bags after use.
• Disposing of waste and storing lab equipment after use.
• Cleanup workspaces on a consistent basis keeping the barns neat and tidy daily.
• Clean and sterilize equipment and work area.
• Cross train during down time, assist in field, transplants, clone care, GH maintenance, etc.
• Undertake basic administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skill, Experience & Education
• Knowledge of Colorado MED Regulations.
• Familiar with Industry best practices.
• Previous cannabis experience preferred
• Coursework or a degree in the Sciences preferred
• Proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• A critical thinker with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently or with a team.

Physical Requirements
• Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for extended periods of time and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
• Able to walk on uneven surfaces, kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop on an intermittent to regular basis daily.
• Able to climb and work on a ladder or mechanical lift as necessary for prolonged time.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds consistently.
• Able to perform manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers.
• Willingness and ability to wear gloves, mask, eye protection, head protection, ear protection, sun protection, pest determent protection on a consistent basis.
Work Environment
• Work in a fast-paced production setting
• Working in a barn, greenhouse and field with a wide temperature and humidity range.
• Work in muddy or wet conditions during harvest season.
Additional Requirements
• Current Colorado MED Occupational Badge is required. Employees are responsible for keeping badge current and renewal.
• Consistent on-time attendance for all scheduled shifts.
• Prepared for full 40-hour week working scheduled shifts or weeks over 40 hours during peak times, including longer days and weekends with little advance notice to complete daily and weekly objectives.
