Summary
DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Dispensary Manager will support the Dispensary Manager in all aspects of dispensary operations. This includes coaching and developing the staff and providing leadership that will ensure the company's mission is delivered to every customer. As leaders, they represent the company and must be a strong role model by assisting in brand presentation, developing new talent and driving results. The Assistant Dispensary Manager must be able to maintain and operate the store on their own, as they will act as the Store Manager when the Dispensary Manager is not available.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Provide department leadership to ensure all operations are functioning with integrity and in the most cost-efficient, compassionate, and compliant manner
- Communication the details of daily operations to the Dispensary Manager
- Stay informed and knowledgeable about state and local laws, regulations, and industry news
- Implement and oversee security, reporting and cash management procedures related to opening and closing of the dispensary
- Partner with Dispensary Manager to provide customer complaint resolution.
Quality & Financial
- Analyze core metrics to better understand store performance in order to meet and exceed goals
- Ensure that established SOPs and work procedures are properly documented and are followed to maximize workflow
- Maintain the set inventory levels based on budgets & demand
- Utilize customer and staff feedback to implement changes that will improve customer service and employee morale
- View sales reports and communicate with the team to identify sales trends and potential stock requirements
- Recommend future promotions and ways to increase sales trends by understanding the success of previous incentives and promotions
People & Development
- Work closely with associates to ensure that all policies and procedures are understood and followed
- Provide aid to employees through course correction, coaching and training, and task assignment
- Participate in the recruiting, selection, training, development and success of employees
- Perform daily observations of staff, providing both positive and constructive feedback
Compliance
- Ensure dispensary is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Record all sales and inventory transactions accurately and in accordance with state and local laws and regulations
- Maintain expired/damaged product log and send waste product back to the grow as necessary
- Assist with inventory reconciliations daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly
- Create schedules to comply with established labor control policies and meeting customer demand

REQUIREMENTS
- Every job applicant must pass a comprehensive background check, including the mandates of the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission. A job offer issued before the completion of a background check shall be contingent upon a positive result. A negative background check result may lead to the withdrawal of the job offer.
- High School Diploma/GED required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in a management role
- 3+ years of experience in a retail/customer service environment
- Proficiency in computer usage including Office email, online conferencing, and more
- Strong problem-solving skills including anticipatory thinking and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm composure
- Demonstrated ability to work comfortably and effectively within a diverse, multicultural, multigenerational environment
- All candidates must be ready, willing, and able to work a fully flexible work schedule to include days, nights and weekends to meet fluctuating business demands based on the needs of the individual department
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand, sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.
