The Maintenance Technician is responsible for a variety of duties related to Maintenance Operations. This position must utilize knowledge of mechanical, greenhouse and building maintenance to provide minimal down time of operations. The position requires working knowledge of maintenance repair procedures, farm operations and marijuana compliance. The Tech is responsible for assisting the Maintenance team with ensuring the safety, security, and maintenance of the facilities and capital assets of the Company. Duties include adherence to operating policies and procedures, assisting the team in maintenance related tasks to all buildings, equipment, and Curaleaf hard assets.
Curaleaf/Los Suenos Farms has a combination of Dispensaries, Processing Buildings and Equipment, Greenhouse and Outdoor Field production creating both diverse and unique challenges depending on the time of year. The position responsibilities will fluctuate with the seasons.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility buildings to detect and notify Supervisor or Lead and assist with resolving problems.
• Repair activities and assign repair tasks to maintenance staff.
• Assist maintenance team with obtaining and caring for all tools and supplies.
• Assist with coordination of timely inspections from outside vendors for, preventative maintenance or repair of electrical equipment and mechanical systems not serviced internally.
• Implement maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and review annually.
• Assist with evaluation of repair cost estimates and present options to management.
• Maintain stocking equipment, filters, general use stock items and order before needed.
• Assist other departments as necessary throughout the facility.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and federal and state laws.
• Ensures company premises and facilities are kept clean, including maintenance of parking area, buildings (including restrooms), fences, general maintenance, and storage areas.
• Provide guidance to affected staff regarding ongoing maintenance activities within specific departments.
• Ensure bottled drinking water is provided in all areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Skill, Experience & Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One-year work experience in a related industry or work environment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Demonstrate ability to consistently meet productivity and performance requirements.
• Demonstrate high attention to detail.
• Demonstrate professional and respectful demeanor towards others.
• Demonstrate verbal and written communication capability.
• Proven success in the following job competencies: Building and mechanical maintenance.
• Proficient leadership, encouraging teamwork, detail orientation and timeliness of repairs.
Job Qualification Requirements:
• Computer software and keyboard proficient highly desired.
• Colorado MED license required to work in Cannabis Industry.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Subject to background check per state cannabis regulations.
• Internal candidates must be in their current role 6 months or more for consideration.
Physical Requirements:
• Able to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop on an intermittent to regular basis daily.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds consistently.
• Climbing and working on a ladder if necessary.
• Working in a barn, greenhouse and field with a wide temperature and humidity range.
Additional Requirements:
• Consistent on-time attendance for all scheduled shifts.
• Expectations are a full 40-hour week, working scheduled shifts or weeks over 40 during peak times.
• Expect longer days and weekends with little advance notice to complete daily and weekly objectives during peak season or pending inclement weather approaching.
