Summary
The CCO is responsible for coordinating and completing all government, regulatory and internal compliance activities and associated documentation. They must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, regulations and procedures within the cannabis industry. They perform a variety of tasks under the direction of management.

- Understand the complexity of compliance requirements governing our businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Taxation, OSHA, Fire Department(s), City Zoning and Planning Department(s), and more
- Provide training to all employees for compliance procedures and evaluate application of same in all processes
- Manage all communication with legal and regulation departments to maintain knowledge on all new rulings in the organization
- Administer all internal audit processes and ensure successful audit of firm every time
- Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution. Consult with in-house lawyers as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues
- Assist legal department with alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Maintain a system for uniform handling of such violations
- Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved
- Monitor and coordinate compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends
- Create in-house training course for onboarding new hires, and management level compliance training to ensure all personnel are familiar with our SOP's, and the requirements of specific regulatory agencies.
- Ability to manage several tasks/projects concurrently and prioritize work effectively.
- Must be able to develop compliance training for different parts of the facility and the tasks performed.
- Training must be documented, and must be in a format where it can be taught by others who have been trained by the CCO.

Experience
- 5+ years of data management and auditing experience.
- Advanced knowledge and experience managing database systems and/or data warehouse including advanced knowledge and experience with data integration and extraction from and to multiple diverse data sources and software programs.
- Enjoys solving complex data problems and possesses strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
