Market Overview:

Hawaii's legalization of medical cannabis in 2000 made it the first state to do so through the legislative process, as opposed to putting an initiative in front of voters. It took until 2015, however, for The Aloha State's Legislature to authorize a regulated cultivation and retail system.

Since 2017, when the first medical dispensaries opened, the state has seen year-over-year growth in both patients and sales, however the sales growth is slowing.
